Endsleigh Rewards – ‘cashback’

Recently Endsleigh – you may know them from getting insurance – introduced a new cashback scheme. It looks quite interesting and definitely worth investigating if you are going to be using Endsleigh’s insurance. If you are not on Endsleigh insurance and don’t want to be, you can read about my other cashback choices here. I have taken a quick look at the offers that are available and there is quite a range. Examples of retailers where the cashback is available from are UberEats, Tesco and even Apple (though there are specific terms and conditions for each of these offers so make sure to give these a read). Many other retailers are also in this scheme, and you are able to view these in the rewards account.

How does it work?

If you have insurance with Endsleigh you can open a rewards account with Endsleigh. Once you have opened this rewards account you can add your debit/credit cards ‘up to 15 debit and credit cards’, which means if you want you could also add your families (or friends) credit and debit if they weren’t interesting in accumulating the cashback themselves. To add your card, all you need to do is add your card number – there is no need to put in a CVC or expiry date.

After this you can ‘shop online or in store with’ their ‘OnCard partners using your registered cards’. Your cashback will be then added to to your wallet as ‘pending’ and then should confirm and move into your account. You can also just click through from the offer onto the retailers webpages and get the cashback by your browser cookies recording the referral. This however is more prone to messing up, and takes a lot more effort to do every time, so I’d advise just adding your cards to your account.

From a privacy standpoint, using this does mean you are revealing some of you purchasing history to Endsleigh so if you are extremely privacy aware then this may not be something you want to do, especially since it does allow Endsleigh to serve you personalized offers. If you are worried about protecting your card and bank details, Endsleigh does note that they are securely stored. Whether you want to trust them on this is your choice.

To redeem this cashback from your account balance, you have to renew your Endsleigh insurance. Just add your bank accounts to your Endsleigh rewards account and your rewards balance will be paid out to you within 21 days.

When is this useful?

This is only useful if you have your insurance with Endsleigh. It is also only useful if you are planning to renew your insurance with Endsleigh as you can only withdraw the rewards balance when you renew or buy new Endsleigh insurance. Since there are over 3000 retailers on the scheme, it is very likely at least somewhere you shop offers a cashback.

For students this can be useful as Endsleigh is a very popular student insurance provider. If you are already on Endsleigh insurance and plan to renew there is no reason not to try and earn cashback. Since there are so many cashback offers, it can really add up and maybe even allow you to get insurance for free next year.

Would I recommend it?

No reason not to. But it is likely not worth the effort for most people. I haven’t made any money back, probably because I haven’t tried that hard.
