My family and I are avid players of Wordle, but sometimes playing the Wordle is not enough for us, so there are multiple other versions that we have picked up and played on a less regular basis. From 8 words to guess at once (Octordle), to guessing the name of a country from a shape (Wordle), there are many different adaptations on the basic game of Wordle.
This post gives a list of the many games we have been playing and you can too!
More at the same time. One is not enough…
- Dordle (https://zaratustra.itch.io/dordle)
Guess two words at once. I fail at this way more then I do at Wordle. - Quordle (https://www.quordle.com/)
Two words wasn’t enough for me, so this is a version where you guess four words. - Octordle (https://octordle.com/)
At this point it is starting to get silly. By the time you have guessed about 4 words, you have almost all of the letters in the place for the rest.
Are you a self-certified movie buff?
- Moviedle (www.moviedle.app)
Watch a whole film in a few seconds then guess what it is! - Framed (framed.wtf)
Now you can guess a movie from a random frame. I can’t work out whether this is easier or harder then Moviedle… - Posterdle (www.posterdle.com)
Try and guess the movie from the poster. Easy right? Not when there are only 8 pixels in the poster…
This isn’t quite right?
- Letterle (https://edjefferson.com/letterle/)
There is definitely some skill to this… somewhere… - Absurdle (https://qntm.org/files/absurdle/absurdle.html)
Now this is absurd, the game doesn’t want to let you get the answer. Absurdle aims to make it take as long as possible for you to get a word correct. - Searchdle (https://wtfseo.com/searchdle/)
Searchdle is made to reflect the pain we suffer with site SEO, with no consistent word length. I feel it!
Now that’s rude….
Keep your kids away from these… though they may be better at it then you.
- Lewdle (https://www.lewdlegame.com/)
Remembering enough lewd words to get to the answer is a challenge for me. I’m not sure its a good thing but my vocabulary is definitely increasing. - Sweardle (https://sweardle.com/)
The key to this game is in the name. How many swear words do you know?
Is that a country?
- Worldle (https://worldle.teuteuf.fr/)
Are you bored of vocabulary? That’s good, as for this one you need to know your geography. How many of you actually know what other countries look like? I certainly am struggling… - Flaggle (https://ducc.pythonanywhere.com/flaggle/)
This is tricky… try guessing the flag? Bet you can’t do it first time!
Numbers?! This is blasphemy.
- Nerdle (https://nerdlegame.com/)
Guess the equation that makes 87. It’s simple. - Primel (https://converged.yt/primel/)
You know your 5 digit prime numbers. Right? - Mathler (https://www.mathler.com/)
You know Nerdle? Well this is Nerdle on steroids. Expect your brain to hurt after this.
Are you a fan?
Or a superfan? Well these are themed specifically for the fans, so if you like Star Wars or Taylor Swift, I’m sure you’ll find these fun.
- Taylordle (https://www.taylordle.com)
If you are a Swiftie, look no further! - SWordle (https://wordle.starwars.guide)
Yes, seriously, you can put your highly important Star Wars knowledge to good use here. - BTS Wordle (https://bts-wordle.vercel.app/)
Of course there was going to be a BTS version… And it’s purple… I wonder why?…
This is too easy…
- Crosswordle (https://crosswordle.serializer.ca/)
A crossword like version of Wordle. Find two overlapping Wordle’s getting clues with each attempt. - Crosswordle (https://crosswordle.vercel.app/)
Not quite a crossword. More like working backwards from a complete Wordle, but a fun puzzle nonetheless.
Saving the best for last…
- Queerdle (https://queerdle.com/)
A version with LGBTQ words. The word length varies, and sometimes there could be two words joined… queerness cannot be contained!
